Dry Needling: What is it and how can it help you?

What is Dry Needing?

Dry needling is a skilled therapy technique which uses thin, solid filament needles inserted into the muscle or tendon to reduce pain, decrease muscle tightness, improve muscle recovery, and aid in tissue healing. Dry needling is an amazing tool which has helped many of our clients get out of pain and back to the activities they enjoy. 


How does it work?

It is often thought that dry needling works by releasing trigger points or knots within the muscle to relieve pain and improve mobility. However, it is more complex than that. Dry needling is shown to activate your bodies own pain relieving mechanisms by changing the chemical environment within the muscle or tendon. Dry needling can be combined with electrical stimulation creating a light contraction of the muscle resulting in decreased tension, improved blood flow, and faster muscle recovery.

 - Tennis or Golfer’s elbow 

 - Hip pain 

 - Muscle strains or spasms
